According to the punch news of 16th March 2018 on sport; Babatunde Fatai Williams gave a speech on how Nigeria swimmers had refused to take part in 2018 Commonwealth Game Australia because they are not well prepared to face such challenge.
Speaking to the news agency, the president said that the Commonwealth Game features many expert swimmers from across the globe and is supposed to be a game that should put the country's name in the medal table but since they didn’t prepare at the national level, they wouldn’t participate at the international tournament.
